ChopBar is a spot that I had been hearing about for almost a year. Everybody was saying that the restaurant culture was good and that the food was even better! It has been featured on several local shows and been given great press! So I was defintely down to try it if it was going to be a NEW Oakland staple.
I happened to be at a tech conferece in Jack London Square and decided to call my bestie up for some girl talk and good food!
I love eating rich food, but I am admittedly not a burger girl! No pun intended, but beef doesn't really move me. So when I sat down for my first time at Chopbar in Oakland I was hyped that there were lots of different types of food to try, but something about that good old fashioned burger kept calling my name!
So I did have to request no Aioli and Avacado (I just don't eat them) and no onions because I had a date that night!
Please forgive my half done nails, but the Kaiser roll on this burger made this the best damn burger in Oakland!
I can't pretend that one of the best parts about Chop Bar is that they serve Rockwall's killer Zinfandel and I had to have a glass! Big Con: They weren't liberal with the pours tho, be forewarned.
I really liked the indoor-outdoor seating that Chop Bar has... Silght Con: but I did NOT like that we had to be seated so close to other people, it wasnt crowded so I kinda think that the waitress was just being a little lazy.
Overall this place was awesome, I have been dreaming about those burgers since I went!
Let me know if you try Chop Bar out, what you thought!
