It was First Friday after the Art Murmur (where I didnt really see any traditional art) and my homegirl, Andrea and I were on the hunt for some good food and well because it was Friday, some even better drinks.
An old bar that I used to run through a couple of years ago had turned into a hipster bar with small bites. Andrea and I walked in and were immediately seated at an open window table. We were able to see the Friday night sights walk by and more than a few handsome gents peeked in to check up on us as we nibbled on some cool finger foods and got our sip on!
The atmosphere was real chill and the playoffs were on the big screens. It felt like an Oakland version of Cheers.
While the food was alright, the drinks were well priced and knocked me out of the park! They were nicely mixed and full of what tasted like top shelf liquor!
I had The Heyday Mai Tai and Andrea had the Hutch Highball! Drinks were $8-$10 bucks each.
Our #Oakland Food Score
For starters: sweet & spicy pecans | grilled scallion hushpuppies
The small plate: bourbon-orange glaze wings
Out total meal was about $45 bucks. So it didn't kill the pocketbook.
This is definitely a place to stop in for drinks and fun again! It also seemed like a cool place to meet people. We met several cuties and had lots of laughs.
Honestly speaking, the food left a bit to be desired, like flavor. But hey, it's a bar and as long as the drinks are good its a score for me in Oakland!
