“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for State Farm. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.”
Public Service has always been nestled deep in my personal and familial values. Being a Lowery meant that we were simply givers, we were given to and it was our duty to give back to others. I remember being a little girl and me and my sisters would have to give to others during significant holidays and we would always see our Mother and her friends give to the community as well.
When I went to college while other people were joining social sororities and fraternities I decided to join Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated-a public service sorority rooted in giving back to the world. After college I worked in a group with my church called Daughters of Destiny where I worked with girls who were 13 to 18 years old to help them gain and maintain self esteem and self love! If the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program would have been around in those days, I would have loved to apply! Women are responsible for the wholesomeness of the community.
It was no surprise that I was excited to learn more about the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program! Communities across the United States and Canada answered the call from State Farm to help create a positive impact in their community and submitted 4,000 causes as part of this year’s State Farm Neighborhood Assist. The best 200 projects and causes have been chosen by State Farm and they need you to vote for them to help them get into the top 40.
From April 28th through May 16th anyone who goes to the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook page can vote as much as daily for their favorite cause, or causes, and help bring $25,000 to the top 40 vote getters.
I will not tell you who I voted for as to sway you one way or the other!...but just know that I have been voting and you can vote too now by clicking here! http://st8.fm/iKc
Send me a tweet @ClassySharelle and tell me how you voted!
