I can admit it, I'm not that handy around the house, so when a light bulb goes out (and it happens often) I start thinking, "Do I really need to replace this one?" I am currently two lights down in my track lighting and working with only one. This is no bueno for a writer. I need super bright LED's! Of course it was time to take a trip to Walmart, where they have the best pricing and selection on items to help me upgrade my home.
GE LED's are the new way to light
I try and be as eco-conscious as possible, recycling and conserving water but I had not crossed over into smart bulbs or anything really dealing with electricity. I was hyped about the GE LED Smart Light bulbs for 3 reasons:
-I would not have to replace them as much as traditional bulbs, they last for 13.7 years! -They were super price efficient at $10.44! -They really help the earth and I am decreasing my carbon foot print by using them!
Okay and the fact that the soft white like performance brightness is REALLY good is also a major factor.
I have decided to start making the switch to GE super bright LED's during this springtime along with my spring cleaning. These energy smart light bulbs are going to last longer than I am even going to be in this home, so I can pass some LED power on to the next tenants!
The annual savings on Energy Smart bulbs are powerful!

When I plugged my changes into the energy consumption calculator what I was super impressed with is that if every U.S. household did just what little I did, it would reduce the same amount of CO2 as planting 11,959,312 acres of trees!
I am so excited that #CollectiveBias and GE partnered with ClassyBlackGirl.com so that we could share such Earth-Sparing information!
