When it comes to wine, there must always be good cheese and juicy grapes! I was in the deli and looking for a good cheese to delight my latest Malbec with! I knew that I didn't just want any cheese, I wanted something palate pleasing. So I picked up two delicious looking Kerrygold Cheeses, the Blarney Castle and the Dubliner! Both of these cheeses are from Ireland. Here are my ten cents on which cheese was the most impressive!
Both the Blarney Castle and Dubliner were about the same price at 6 bucks per 16 ounce. So that price point was nice and easy!
First let us chat up the Blarney Castle. Its a slightly soft cheese. Not as soft as a brie, but not hard at all! This cheese is tasty, its rich and has multiple tastes!! Its like a light version of a sharp cheese. Its clearly NOT your typical cheese. I like the Blarney Castle and would purchase this Kerrygold Cheese again for sure!

Then there is the Blarney Castle's Sexy Big Brother!...The Dubliner! Now this cheese is a bit harder with a sexier taste and slightly stinkier smell...can you see my wide smile?? This is defintely the Kerrygold Cheese front runner and I love how it crumbles when I cut it. It been aged for two years and is described as having a "cheddar parmesan" flavor! Okay, and on top of all of that...this cheese seems to have some little crunchies inside of it that add to the complexity of the taste! There is low-moisture in the Dubliner and enhances GREATLY anything that you are eating!
The Blarney Castle is going to be your cheese that most people are going to love and perfect for a dinner party, however the Dubliner is going to be the Kerrygold Cheese that you are going to crawl up in the bed with accompanied by a big glass of Malbec!
The Dubliner wins this Battle but I surely hope that you try both of these at your next dinner party!
