I was enjoying a sunny day out in the East Bay and decided to grab a treat that I had not enjoyed in a long time-a Jamba Juice.
I try and keep my sugar and simple carbs low, but I still crave sweet stuff, especially after a warm day in the sunshine. So I moseyed on over to the Jamba Juice and looked at their new offerings. I was surprised at so many new types of smoothies that they had. Lots of All-Natural, whole fruit and vegetable smoothies-with way less sugar than some of the more traditional Jamba Juices that taste so good! I have been on a super health kick, working out, eating uber Paleo and enjoying life much more!
Luckily Jamba Juice had a Kale-ribbean Passion that was super green and while it DID have more carbs than I would like to have in a meal (108 gms) it had a nice amount of protein and fiber and kept me full for hours, so it was worth the carbs exchange.
I loved the taste and it took me about 45 minutes to actually finish.
It was extremely filling. And the fact that I could taste the Kale leaves and yep, I felt like I was doing something healthy. Sometimes part of staying healthy is having little treats that don't go ALL of the way but that take that sweet craving edge off!
Next time I get this smoothie(because I will be going back), I will get the smaller one but I will add a protein boost!
