A phone meeting is every bit as important as an “in real life meeting.” Information is communicated and results should happen. You are just not IN the physical presence of the other party! Here are 6 quick tips to keep your phone meetings professional, engaging and effective:
- Be on time.
- Clearly communicate what party should do the calling and to what number.
- Sit up straight and take notes.
- Be prepared.
- Do not over talk the other party because you cannot see them.
- Do not use the internet or text/email anybody else while in the meeting. Stay in the moment and be 100!
This is a great start to making people feel like they are very important when you are in a phone meeting with them. Most people do not follow these simple rules, this will make you stand out as a Winning Communicator!
