In the Word it says,
"Without a Vision, the people perish."
The American Dream Begins as a Seed
From the time that I was a young girl my family instilled hard work and success as core values into my sisters and me. We all worked hard and we knew that it did not necessarily mean following the rules that other people followed. My parents are entrepreneurs and they showed us how to work hard, but smart. As I grew older and began pursuing educational pursuits and graduated from college I had to begin wondering how I was going to make my own American Dream in the world. I tried a LOT of things, had a lot of jobs. None of them were my DREAM.
Finding Your Place
When I started writing about entertainment lifestyle and travel I realized that I had hit my sweet spot. Interviewing celebrities that I admire, traveling and getting a few coins to do that actually makes me eternally happy. I am living my American Dream. However, there are always the nagging thoughts of: Are you making enough money? and the most important Are you saving enough to provide for your future?
According to MassMutual I am not the only person concerned about the future.
7 in 10 Americans say they want to be actively involved in all decisions regarding their finances, yet less than 20% of these people say they are satisfied with their current financial situation.
65% of people believe that financial security for retirement is an individual's responsibility, but only 30% of people feel that they are doing a good job preparing financially for it.
74% of parents believe it’s never too early to start saving for their children’s college education.
Planning for my Future
I was provided with information on planning from MassMutual’s State of the American Family Study and I was able to calm some of the noise that I was feeling by making planning and saving so easy. Mass Mutual also provides information so that I can understand money better. While I learned a lot about the hustle growing up, I didn't learn as much about how money works. For my parents saving money and putting it in a bank was what being financially smart meant. MassMutual has shared with me how to understand my finances so much better and helped me make good decisions with The American Dream that I am working on.
Now that I have made my appointment with MassMutual I know that I can rest assured that my future is being provided for and I can really LIVE The American Dream that I hustle for. I do not have to be nervous about what will happen to me and my future family in the next 20 years.
Are you planning for your future while you are living your AMERICAN DREAM?
