I love creamy, delicious and amazing treats. Did you hear me say creamy? I love smoothies with almond milk!
Well as much as I like creamy foods, they are not friendly to my tummy. I need to have high protein foods and I love creamy foods, but I don't want the high calories! Silk almond milk to the rescue! Its creamy and refreshing and tastes sooo good on hot days!

The high protein in Almond milk is amazing when it comes to making smoothies and protein shakes!...and I have to admit that I really like the way that it tastes too!  Besides the occasional guilty sweet treat I am all about staying healthy, fit and fly!  Silk has many varieties and I pick mine up from my local Safeway, right in the Organic refriderator!  I always feel like I am doing something better for myself when I purchase products that are more natural.

African-American (as well as Latino, Native American and Asian) people also tend to be lactose intolerant at a higher percentage rate than other people, so I pretty much just avoid cow milk all the way around!

In the morning time I add Silk Almond Milk to my black coffee for a little sweet cream!

In the afternoon I have a Green Smoothie to get me gym ready and to help me get those 5 veggies in per day and increase my protein intake!  If it wasn't for my smoothies, I would never be able to achieve a healthy diet.

Here are 3 of my favorite Green Smoothies with Almond Milk to tempt you into a healthier creamy way to do lunch:

1. Chocolate Covered Blueberry "Green Smoothie!"

  • 2 Cups of Spinach
  • 1 Cup of Blueberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Tablespoons of 100% Cacao Powder
  • 1 Cup of Silk Almondmilk with Protein and Fiber!

This is one of my favorites, especially around "that time of the month." I am able to get my chocolate fix in without any of the guilty calories!  Its creamy, its fruity and its uber chocolatey!!  This serves two so have one with somebody that you love or save it and replace a meal later!

2. Protein Peanut Butter and Banana "Green Smoothie"

  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1/2 of a ripe banana
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (I prefer organic honey)
  • 2 (heaping) tablespoons of peanut butter (I like organic and unsweetened)
  • 1 cup of Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber

Whenever my iron is low and my protein needs a boost I reach for this easy to make smoothie!  Also, its pretty darn sweet too!  I usually add more honey! *smile*

3. The Kale-a-Nator "Green Smoothie"

  • 1 cup of kale
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup of Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 mango

Kale always "cleans me out" in a way that no other veggie seems to!  So I make sure that I get one of these in once a week!

In the evening time I have a cup of tea to help me retire and Silk Almond Milk gives me that last bit of protein for the day and makes my tea British style!

I like to search the internet for smoothie recipes and I find that the Silk Almond Milk Facebook page has some awesome recipes!
