I have been writing for my whole life. Creating content and sharing my thoughts online for a LONG time. It has been almost a year since the election of our 45th President and I have only found myself becoming more angry, afraid and unspoken for. I have decided to come out of the shadows and start writing specifically for “My Girls.”
Where Are We?
When I watch the news there is nobody who is speaking my truth. I sometimes see a glimpse of it on Social Media, however it is then hazed over by obnoxious hate speech or even cultural vultures. In case you didn’t know Culture Vultures take from Sistas what they like and discard the rest. I am going to get into it all honestly, abruptly and without regard for being appropriate. As Black Women we are always trying to make sure that other people are not offended. That stops now. Classy and straightforward.

This Capsule is Different
Sometimes I talk about red lipstick or my favorite auto to drive, but I wanted to get a little deeper and write a few pieces with more punch and impact. I will be dishing SocioPolitical issues. From “To Protest or Not” to “The Problem with Kardashian Worship” I am going to lay my feelings out on the table. I am also going to talk about these Curves and how we deal with skin Color in America and in our Black community. I hope that none of my friends are angry with me when I share my truth. If you are mad, just share my posts.
Not Reality TV, Reality Life
I am going to share 30 essays under the topic of Color, Curls, Curves and Class. This will be every bit as exciting as my reality TV posts. However, it is time that I started speaking up and speaking out about how I feel being a Black Woman in 2017 dealing with the ramifications of Color, Curls, Curves and Class. In this America that we live in they are all intertwined and quite frankly a hot mess. Writing and sharing is the best way that I can protest. Please join me, agree with me, disagree with me and holler if you hear me on my most recent capsule.
You will always be able to find this capsule on ClassyBlackGirl.com.
Thank you for always reading!
